Introduction

Welcome to the Area 51 Wrestling Club, where we’re launching a new era of champions in our extraterrestrial wrestling laboratory! As your coaches, we’re thrilled to invite - Open wrestlers (3 years experience), middle school, and high school wrestlers —to join us on this out-of-this-world journey. Our mission is to ignite a passion for wrestling, foster progressive growth, and empower every athlete to become the best version of themselves. This letter shares our vision for the Area 51 Wrestling Club and explains how wrestlers and parents can be part of something truly special.


At Area 51, our coaches are more than just trainers—we’re mentors who love wrestling and care deeply about your development. We believe in building skills, confidence, and character over chasing quick wins. Whether you’re experimenting with a new turning series, or mastering a specialized move like the low single, we’re here to guide you and give you time to work on the positions where you want to improve on. Our focus is on long-term growth, helping you create a personalized wrestling system that’s as unique as a UFO sighting. 

The Power of Practicing with Purpose

Success in wrestling starts with a plan. That’s why we’ve created the Area 51 Wrestling Club Workbook —your mission control for building a wrestling system that’s all your own. While we’d love to design a custom script for every wrestler, the real magic happens when you take the controls. Watching wrestling, studying stars like David Taylor’s relentless takedowns or Kyle Dake's technical defense, and choosing moves that fit your style or body type spark the process. Your workbook helps you turn those ideas into a plan: a sequence of tie-ups, setups, shots, finishes, and counters that become your signature system.


When you come to practice with a plan—your script—and work with purpose, you transform our mats into a laboratory of growth. The goofing around fades, and real progress takes off. You’ll ask better questions, discover new scoring options, and build stronger defenses. Even a few focused practices can give you an edge in close matches, equipping you with core positions to outsmart opponents. For those who dive in deeper, the workbook guides you to set goals, drill with intensity, focus on mastery, and reflect on your progress, turning you into a wrestler who’s ready for any challenge.

Levels of Commitment: Every Path Is Out-of-This-World

We know every wrestler has unique goals, schedules, and passions, and we welcome all levels of commitment at Area 51. Whether you’re balancing other sports or ready to make wrestling your mission, there’s a place for you in our club. Our morning practices are designed for wrestlers with three or more years of experience, Middle school, and high school, while evening practices are open to all, ensuring everyone can find their spot in our galaxy. Below are the three levels of commitment we offer, each with its own path to success:


  • Commitment Level 1: Come When You Can
    Perfect for wrestlers juggling other sports or busy schedules but eager to hit the mat and shake off the rust. You’ll learn the techniques we teach that day, get live wrestling experience, and leave practice feeling wiser and more confident. Every moment in our lab helps, and we’re excited to have you! What to expect: You’ll have fun, prepare yourself for early-season matches, and build a solid foundation with a positive attitude. Show up, work hard, and enjoy the journey!
  • Commitment Level 2: Most or All Practices
    For wrestlers who can attend most morning or evening practices, this level is about crafting your own wrestling system while learning from our coaches’ expertise. Come prepared, using the Area 51 Wrestling Journey Workbook, with a basic action plan of: a neutral tie-up for offense, a defensive scoring position, a top series, and a bottom series. Drill these with purpose, and you’ll see rapid progress. What to expect:  By mastering a reliable shot, escaping consistently, and testing yourself in live practice, you could qualify for regionals or even states, setting the stage for a breakout season.
  • Commitment Level 3: Full Commitment
    This is for dedicated wrestlers ready to launch their growth into hyperspace. By fully embracing the Area 51 Wrestling Journey Workbook, you’ll create a detailed action plan, set wrestling and personal goals, and aim to attend every practice. Study technique videos, follow a strength program, and reflect every few weeks to tweak your system—maybe adding a new finish or setup. Meet with a coach to discuss what’s working and explore wrestlers to study, like Jordan Burroughs or Cael Sanderson. Balance is key: there’s time for fun and ice cream, but also time to prioritize healthy eating, sleep, and discipline because your goals are bigger than the average kid’s. What to expect: With intense film study, drilling, sparring, strength training, and workbook-guided reflection, you’ll build a system that positions you for state or national podiums and opens doors to elite opportunities.


No matter your commitment level, you’re a vital part of our Area 51 family. Even a few practices before the season can sharpen your takedowns and counters, turning close losses into victories. For those choosing Level 3, your discipline and purpose will propel you past opponents in no time. Every wrestler who steps into our laboratory with a plan is on a trajectory to greatness.
